Approach

In therapy, I aim to empower and collaborate with you in a warm environment. Together, we'll address your concerns, discover strengths, and create personalized strategies to navigate life’s challenges.

I use evidence-based methods like CBT, TF-CBT, CPT, and Motivational Interviewing to equip you with tailored skills for everyday life.

Background

My journey as a therapist began when I earned a B.A. in Psychology, with a special emphasis on Clinical Science, at Cal-State Long Beach. After that, I was determined to take it up a notch. I went on to get my MSc. in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University. I wanted to blend my cultural background, lived experience and bilingual abilities with therapist training to make sure that underserved communities have access to the care they deserve.

Outside of my therapy work, I'm passionate about building an ongoing practice of wellness—listening or watching live music, reading non-fiction, engaging in movement, learning a new skill, enjoying laughter with friends and family, and cherishing the moments with my spouse and kids.

Experience

I earned my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University (SFSU) and completed two—first year practicums working with children at the Southeast Families United Head Start and adults at SFSU’s Community Psychology Clinic providing. During my second practicum year, I did my traineeship at Instituto Familiar de La Raza, Inc.’s (IFR) La Clinica/Outpatient Clinic providing individual and family therapy. Then, remained as a clinician at IFR for several years working with youth, adults, caregivers, and families; centering culture, fostering connections and trauma-informed practices.

After IFR, I started working as a clinician and clinical supervisor within UCSF’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (DBPS) and Division of Infant, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (ICAP) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) focused on providing quality, culturally tailored and trauma-informed mental health services youth, young adults, families and caregivers for various years.

Most recently, I served as the Program Director for a clinical program within DBPS ICAP focused on providing gender-responsive services and increasing access to care for young women and their families in San Francisco.
